HARMONIUM WORKSHOPS WITH DINESH

Beginner’s Harmonium/Stage 1

Sunday 16th June 2013, 2pm - 5pm

No prior experience necessary. Maximum of 7 people.

Learn how to play sacred songs and chants from the Indian (Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh) and other spiritual traditions on the harmonium.

The session covers the basics of the harmonium - the mechanics, using the stops & drones, using the bellows, learning about the inner workings. You will also learn basic techniques and simple chords to be able to use your instrument to support your voice and give you the confidence to sing with and from the fullness of your heart.

DEVOTIONAL GUITAR WORKSHOPS WITH DINESH

Learn to play and sing devotional songs & chants from Indian and other spiritual traditions. The ability to hold at least a few chords is necessary.

The emphasis is on using the guitar to help create a sacred space, using our instrument as a support for the voice, and also learning to sing from the heart. Great singing ability is not a requirement!

Maximum of 6 people.
